Why do so many people’s shoulders hurt? Our shoulders have an incredible design. They allow a huge range of movement in our arms and can transmit a lot of power. when they are working well, our arms feel light and mobile. We can use our arms and hands with speed, power and precision without fatigue, discomfort or pain
When they aren’t working so well, our movements can become restricted, stiff and clumsy
poorly coordinated shoulders are also very prone to injury and trying to use our hands for work or other complex tasks such as playing music is very difficult if they are not supported properly
But, can the Alexander Technique Help??
Shoulder pain, winging scapula, forward shoulder position, tense or raised shoulders and the problems associated with painful shoulders such as repetitive strain injury, brachial plexus pain, nerve entrapment, thoracic outlet syndrome etc. all respond well to Alexander Technique. If you are experiencing shoulder pain or know someone that is, check out this video!
